Integrative Power

Back to Index

Integrative power

is the power of social ties and the power of identity – the power of the

integrative system

(the system of social bonds that hold people together in groups). Although seldom considered a source of power, Kenneth Boulding argued that integrative power is the strongest form of power because all others depend on the integrative system in order to work.
